What's included

Support at Home is the Australian Government program for aged care in your own home. It replaced Home Care Packages from 1 November 2025.

After a My Aged Care assessment, Support at Home can fund in-home help such as:

  • Personal care (showering, dressing, mobility support)
  • Domestic assistance and house cleaning
  • Nursing and allied health at home
  • Respite for carers
  • Meals, transport, and social support
  • Home modifications and some garden or home maintenance where assessed as needed

Use Get matched to send one free request. Local providers who deliver Support at Home services can contact you. We do not charge families for matching.

Funding and how to pay

Support at Home started on 1 November 2025 and replaced Home Care Packages. If you already had a Home Care Package, your services continued under Support at Home.

To access Support at Home, contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au for an assessment. Your assessment decides the supports you can use. Some people pay an income-tested contribution; My Aged Care explains how that works for your situation.

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) still provides entry-level support. The government has said CHSP will transition into Support at Home. If you already receive CHSP services, they continue while that change is rolled out. Check My Aged Care for the latest on your services.

Private payment is also an option if you are waiting for an assessment, want extra hours, or prefer to self-fund.

How to compare providers

When comparing Support at Home providers:

  • Ask whether they currently deliver Support at Home (not only older Home Care Package arrangements)
  • Check service area, wait times, and whether the same workers usually visit
  • Confirm how they invoice Support at Home and what you may need to contribute
  • Compare how clearly they explain what a typical visit includes

Get matched for a free shortlist based on your suburb and the support you need. Tell the form your funding is Aged Care so providers see the right context.
