Most NDIS support worker wages sit under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS Award, MA000100). This calculator uses the published Fair Work pay guide rates that apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 December 2026.

How the SCHADS Award rates work

Choose the award stream that matches the work. Social and community services (SACS) is the usual stream for disability support in community and group-home settings. Home care — disability applies to personal care and household support in a private residence.

Full-time and part-time employees use the same ordinary hourly rates. Casual employees are paid the published casual rates, which already include the 25% casual loading. Evening hours use the award afternoon shift rate. Night hours use the night shift rate.

Sleepover allowance

The pay guide lists a sleepover allowance of $62.87 for each sleepover. Enter the number of sleepovers, not hours. Work performed during a sleepover is paid separately under the award and is not included in this estimate.

What this calculator does not include

  • Overtime, broken-shift allowances, on-call, first aid, laundry or vehicle allowances
  • Enterprise agreements or above-award rates
  • Superannuation, leave loading or tax
