NDIS cleaning rate 2026-27
NDIS house cleaning (support item 01_020_0120_1_1) has a national price limit of $60.10 per hour for 2026-27. This support helps with household cleaning tasks that you can't do yourself because of your disability.
What's included in NDIS house cleaning
NDIS cleaning services typically include:
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Bathroom cleaning: toilet, shower, sink, mirrors
- Kitchen cleaning: benches, sink, stove, microwave
- Dusting surfaces and furniture
- Taking out rubbish
- Laundry: washing, drying, folding clothes
- Making beds
- Wiping down surfaces
What's not included
The NDIS won't fund:
- Deep cleaning or one-off cleans (like end-of-lease or spring cleaning) unless it's part of ongoing maintenance
- Carpet steam cleaning (unless it's regular maintenance)
- Window cleaning (external)
- Hoarding or extreme clutter clean-up (this may require specialist supports)
- Cleaning that's not related to your disability
How often can I claim cleaning?
There's no set limit. The frequency depends on:
- Your Core Supports budget
- Your household size and needs
- What's reasonable for your situation
Most participants claim cleaning weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on their budget and needs.
How much per visit?
The cost depends on how long the clean takes. For example:
- 1-bedroom unit (1.5 hours): $90.15 (1.5 × $60.10)
- 3-bedroom house (3 hours): $180.30
- Large house or deep clean (4 hours): $240.40

How to claim NDIS cleaning
- Check your plan: Make sure you have Core Supports funding.
- Find a provider: Search for NDIS cleaning providers near you.
- Book the service: The provider invoices using item code 01_020_0120_1_1.
- Payment: Your plan manager pays the invoice (plan-managed), or you pay and claim reimbursement (self-managed).
Do I need a registered provider?
Only if you're plan-managed or NDIA-managed. If you self-manage your Core Supports, you can hire any cleaner you trust.
Remote and very remote rates
Rates are higher in remote areas:
- National: $60.10/hr

- Very remote: Even higher rate
