NDIS gardening and yard maintenance rate
NDIS House or Yard Maintenance (support item 01_019_0120_1_1) has a national price limit of $59.01 per hour for 2026-27. This support helps with basic yard upkeep tasks that you can't do yourself because of your disability.
What's covered under NDIS yard maintenance
NDIS yard maintenance typically includes:
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Weeding garden beds and paths
- Trimming hedges and pruning shrubs
- Raking leaves and general tidy-up
- Watering plants (basic maintenance)
- Removing green waste to the kerb or bin
What's not covered
The NDIS won't fund:
- Landscaping or garden redesign
- Planting new gardens or major renovations
- Tree removal or stump grinding
- Structural work (fences, retaining walls, paving)
- Ongoing maintenance that would be a normal household expense for anyone (the NDIS funds only what you can't do because of your disability)
How to claim NDIS gardening
Yard maintenance falls under Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life. To claim it:
- Check your plan budget. Yard maintenance is usually in your Core Supports budget.
- Find a registered provider (or an unregistered one if you're self-managed).
- The provider invoices using item code 01_019_0120_1_1.
- If you're plan-managed, your plan manager pays the invoice. If you're self-managed, you pay the provider and claim the NDIS reimbursement.
